The club website is an important means of communicating information to all our members, regarding swim times, gala information and results, badge timetables and successes, social activities and anything else we feel may be relevant. We would encourage you to visit it on a regular basis to keep abreast of what is going on.
This year a couple of important changes occurred:
1. We added a members only area to the site which requires a username and password to allow access to the information held in the area. Many of you have requested and been granted access to this part of the site.
2. We had a change of webmaster. Since the site was conceived it has been run by Dave Thompson. In the middle of this year he handed it over to me, but he has continued to give me help and advice as I learn what is needed. For this I must thank him, as well as for the fact that I inherited a site which should be the envy of many organisations. I have received a number of complementary comments and Dave is the one worthy of those accolades.
During 2005 the site had over 17,000 visits, which is almost as many visits as it had received in the previous 3 years, so it is clearly something which people are finding useful. The visit statistics for the site are shown below by month.
An interesting statistic not shown above is that on November 13th, the site received 133 visits in a single day – must have been ‘National Anoraks Day’ !!!
