Membership Report

What a busy role the membership secretary has!

I step down after a year, a pity because I have enjoyed using the excellent systems put in place by my predecessor Jon Wood, but my work commitments since September have increased and my free time diminished.

I now present the key information with regards to membership at Bushey Amateur Swimming Club.

There are currently 177 full swimming members. During 2012 the number leaving the club was 37, and new members totalled 44. So overall we have an increase in membership of 7 swimmers.

In this role I have appreciated the patience and good spirit of our members and volunteers. On a reflective note, I have spent a lot of time, liaising with the treasurer and poolside manager in order to chase those who do not respond to requests to pay fees. With that in mind the procedures for collecting payments changed, to reduce the number of occasions in the year that fees are collected. I

hope that change makes it easier for all those managing the club.
