2004 was yet another good year for Club Championships which were held in March, June, and November. An average of 80 swimmers attended each gala with a further 47 swimmers entering the 200m competition, all four events counting towards age group awards.
No swimmer dominated any age group with competition close in most groups. The difference between 1st and 2nd was 5 points or less in 9 out of 12 of the age categories.
The seven records broken during the year were;
Boys U8 12m Breast Harry Edwards 13.64 sec.
( Bradley Henwood 14.92 2002)
Boys U8 12m Back Harry Edwards 13.93 sec.
( Bradley Henwood 14.65 2002)
Girls U10 25m Free Olivia Fisher 18.12 sec.
( Rosie Spreadbury 18.67 2001)
Girls U10 50m Free Taryn Rice 38.86 sec.
( Philippa Hardy 39.02 2002)

( Tim Seaholme 45.75 1990)

Boys Open 50m Sprint Stuart Long 26.62 sec
( Stuart Long 26.76 2002)
Congratulations to all of our record breakers, particularly Harry who broke two records and Carl and Lucy, it’s good to see records being broken especially when they’ve stood for 14 years and 12 years respectively.
Finally a big thank you to Carolyn Beckley for organising officials and all those who have been involved in making these events happen, without volunteers they wouldn’t be able to take place.
