Poolside Report

2015 has been a great year on poolside for Bushey ASC. We had Terry Davies join the coaching team before the Summer who fulfilled the advertised paid coach role who oversees the top squad and the overall coaching programme.  He will be a great influence in our coaching development with his technical knowledge rated outstanding.  

We have had several new teachers coming on board towards the end of 2015, but we always need to recruit new volunteers – it is very rewarding, if you are interested please contact the Club Secretary.

 Pool time in 2015 has been extremely stable with all pool hours staying the same.  We increased the pool time at St Margarets so the Amos 2 & Transition groups get 1 hour instead of 45 minutes.  We also managed to secure a third lane at Bushey Grove for Wednesday nights due to having so many from Erica attending the session which is great to see.

 All of our coaches have done an excellent job at coaching all groups and I would just like to say a big thank you to all of them as we are all volunteers (exc. Terry) and give up our own time for our love of teaching and coaching and seeing the swimmers progress.

A special thank-you to Jane Willis who has kindly been available as a teacher during 2015 when we need short term cover and has taken the swimmers through the diving course.

 I'm sure 2016 will be a great year on poolside and will see a big step in the club development.
