Bushey ASC’s Swim 21 accreditation expired in 2013, after 4 successful years as an accredited club.
The committee made the decision to re-accredit the club, as Swim21 is a mark that we are providing a quality service for our members. Swim21 clubs are required to have in place clear long-term goals to develop both the swimmers and the volunteers, and to grow membership, ensuring sustainability for the future.
Swim 21 has financial benefits for the club, in addition to the recognition as a quality club. Accredited clubs are able to apply for discounted courses to develop the coaching staff, apply for funding grants, register for the Sainsbury’s Active Kids scheme, the list goes on.
I am pleased to report that Bushey ASC have completed half the required modules, and are working towards the remainder. As you are aware, there has been some upheaval within the coaching staff and committee over the last year, which in turn has had a knock on effect completing Swim21. Nevertheless, we aim to be completed by the end of this quarter.
I look forward to a successful and rewarding 2014!
Lou Gooden
Swim21 Co-ordinator
