We have now
completed our first full year at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre and, apart from
some disruption to repair broken tiles to the pool, this has gone reasonably
well.
We managed to
complete our calendar of Club Champs and Style Competitions but only by
changing dates from those originally set to allow for the temporary repairs to
the pool to be carried out. The
permanent repairs have been carried out and hopefully we will be able to meet
our programme for this year as planned. My thanks to all who worked to make these events happen on their
rescheduled dates.
Last year saw the
promotion of both our Herts Major League and Peanuts League swim squads in
their respective divisions and we wish them well in the coming season.
This year sees
the departure from the Committee of John Furniss, Amanda Trayte, David Evans,
Ann Hodge, Will Spreadbury and Andy Harris and I take this opportunity to thank
them, and the other Committee members for their assistance and support during
this last year.
Having served my
three years as Chairman, I too will be stepping down but have agreed to take the post of Vice Chairman to assist the new
Committee in the year ahead.
On the social
front we enjoyed a theatre trip and held our first Quiz Night both of which we
will be repeating in our calendar of events for the coming year. Many thanks to the girls of
the Social Committee and Louise Henson for these.
The annual Dinner
Dance held earlier this month was another resounding
success and my thanks to all, particularly those attending for the first time,
who came along on the night. Thanks again to Maureen Hemley and Ann Hodge
for their excellent organization and for booking next years Dance.

Committee I thank all the teachers and swimmers and all who give their time
voluntarily to make Bushey ASC successful and wish you all a happy and peaceful
New Year.
