During 2002 the club introduced the ASA Sprint Speed Awards. We currently have 35 registered swimmers.
When a swimmer achieves the qualifying times in competitive strokes they are presented with their certificate. The Bronze and Silver certificates are awarded at club champs. At the Annual Awards Ceremony we are presenting the Gold and Platinum certificates. It is a real achievement to gain these awards as the swimmer has to demonstrate fast times across all strokes.

Awarded for overall improvement in the age group in their year.
As Overall Most Improved we have a swimmer who has significantly improved her times in all strokes and continued to demonstrate improved swimming technique. The most improved Cup goes to Mair Beesley.
Awarded to swimmers who have really worked hard at their swimming throughout the year.
As Overall Endeavour Swimmer we have a swimmer who entered club champs, completed numerous badges, swims regularly both at Bushey Grove Pool and Habs with a big smile. She may not be the fastest swimmer but is definitely one of our most determined and sets a wonderful example for every other swimmer. This year the Bill Dowse goblet for Endeavour goes to Rachel Lewis.
This year the Tony Amos award goes to a young swimmer in the widths classes who has achieved progression through the classes, developing strokes and contributing to the club through her swimming in galas and her success in badges. The Tony Amos cup goes to Bryony Earnshaw.
The Chairman’s shield is awarded to the swimmer who has achieved the best results in Open Competitions. This year the award goes to a young man who entered the BAGCATS and gained 4th in 50 m Breast Stroke & Freestyle, Bronze in 50m Backstroke, Silver in 200m Freestyle and Gold in 50m Butterfly and 100m Individual Medley. The Chairman’s Shield goes to Michael Molloy.

There is one award remaining that this year does not go to an individual but to the two teams that gained promotion in the Herts Major and Peanuts Leagues. We would like Robin as Club Captain to accept the Vice Chairman’s shield on behalf of the teams.
