Officials Report

In 2010 the ASA introduced a new Licensing scheme for Swimming Officials.  Several of our parents are now licensed officials and have completed further qualifications this year.  Others continue to work towards being qualified Judges and Starters.  They are now contributing at county and other swimming events. We are delighted that a number of parents who have joined the club during the year are already qualified officials, and others have attended courses to become club timekeepers and so our team of officials who can help at club events and galas continues to grow.  You will see all these vital volunteers wearing white and clutching stopwatches and clipboards at our club competitions.  You can join them!!!

The basic timekeeper course takes less than half a day and requires simple common sense.  I am hoping to run one of these courses at our second club championships in 2011 so let me know if you want more information.  It is a great way to start to get involved with the club and to support the swimmers.
